I wanted to know of any schools in inland empire or orange county California for my autistic sons. The ones shown are too far. I’m not happy with my present public school

Hi Safiya, Unfortunately I don’t live in California so I’m not familiar with the cities in the regions you mentioned. I would contact your local chapter of the Autism Society of America as they may have the information you seek. Good luck!

Hi Safiya,
I am just now looking at this site, I know this is an old comment… However, my mom runs the autism program for RCOE (I also used to work there), and it is an amazing program. Email me if you would like to know more!

Beacon Day School in La Palma has an exceptional program for children with Autism and related disorders. The program utilizes an integrative approach combining therapies with academic and behavioral interventions. It runs K-12 and has a transition program for individuals until the age of 22. School districts in a wide radius send children to Beacon through IEP recommendations. The Executive Director is a Licensed Neuropsychologist Nurse Practitioner and there are LVNs on staff to handle medical issues that arise with the children. The website is http://www.beacondayschool.com.

Hello, I was looking into Beacon but there web site says only K-8 and my son is going to be 13. I wonder if the k-8 is new or if it is K-12. I will call on Monday. K-12 would be great, I was disappointed when I saw k-8.

Hi there, We are possibly moving to the San Francisco area in the next two months and I am looking for a school for my daughter. She is 7 and has high functioning autism. Last year she went to a charter school for kids with ADD and Aspergers. Does anyone know of a school like that in the S.F area?

I heard great things about Hope … I’ve heard about Becaon but they are too far from where I live. I’m still in same situation with my sd… I forgot the individual who mentioned rcoe but I think I have to live in a certain zi code to get services. I’m in a different sd

For ABA therapy in Fresno, try the Central California Autism Center located on the campus of California State University, Fresno, CA. CCAC is a teaching and research center that trains FSU students to use ABA therapy with their clients. They have grad students as supervisors and have been open about 5 years. They may also soon be opening a charter school in Fresno for students on the autism spectrum.

Is there a high school program that can help him and what is the best
recommendation.
We can live anywhere in the US.
Many thanks Bill

My son is also 13. He’s high functioning, but “lost it” in public school. We found New Vista School in Laguna Hills, CA (on this list), and it has been amazing for our family. The school is for 6th through 12th grade and even has programs that help kids to transition into the “real world” later (living and work skills/training/help). I can’t say enough…

Hi so I’m looking for a school appropriate for my son, who would need an aide in class. I’m currently home schooling but feel he would benefit from a more set schedule. Let me know if there’s a good school in the auburn/grass valley/Roseville area..thx..

I’m looking for a public school that has a special education program for autism for my son in the Los Angeles County. My son has been in the intergrated class program that has Familiars and Non Familiars learning together. I know about the ABC school district but I’m wondering if there are any others maybe closer to the inland empire?
