My husband is looking into a job in batesville to improve our income and I am looking into schools to accomodate our 7 year old autistic son. He has no speech and can be agressive toward himself and occasionally others. We are at a great school now they know and understand my son but that is because he has been at this school since kindergarten. I know a move will be very hard for my son and there will be many meltdowns with adjusting to a new school. I just don’t want him to be misunderstood because of a difficult transition . We also have a 9 year old daughter who attends school with our son and she is able to check in on her little brother from time to time. I want them to be able to be near each other if we do move to that area . Please respond we need to know if there is a school in that area that is right for us before we make a decision
Hi Judith, I do not live in Arkansas and so I can’t personally attest to the schools in the area. Since you are looking at a job in Batesville, perhaps you can call The Community School and arrange an interview and tour of the school. I’d also consider contacting a local autism support group or chapter of The Autism Society of America to get first-hand information from other parents in the other. Good luck!
