Update on the Special Education Voucher Program – Arizona

The Arizona Autism Coalition is hosting a meeting for parents of children that were served by the special education voucher system that was just ruled unconstitutional by the Arizona Supreme Court.

Scholarship Program for Children with Disabilities Is No Longer Available – What Are Your Options Now?

DATE: Tuesday, April 14, 2009
TIME: 6:30-8:30 PM
LOCATION: Scottsdale Bible Church, 7601 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, AZ 85260
QUESTIONS? Contact Coalition Coordinator, Jessica Lewis, at Jessica@azautism.org.

Join the Arizona Autism Coalition and learn more about what you can do as a parent of a school-age child with a disability now that the scholarship program is no longer available. We will be joined by education advocate, Elaine Berkley, Harry Miller, President of the AZ School Tuition Organization Association (ASTOA) and Executive Director of Tuition Organization for Private Schools (T.O.P.S.) for kids, and the ASA-GPC Parent Mentors.

On-Site Respite Option
The meeting site includes a play area and sensory room, so children may attend if they are accompanied by a respite care provider (see below for a list of respite agencies that are Arizona Autism Coalition members). Please contact your usual respite provider agency to make arrangements. However, if your child is not eligible for respite, please contact us before Wednesday, April 6th so that we may request enough volunteers from our member agencies to be available onsite to provide respite care.

**Special thanks to meeting sponsors Arizona Autism United and Autism Society of America, Greater Phoenix Chapter!**
