KindTree Autism Camp and Retreat 2009 – Oregon

The Baker Boy Scout Camp in Florence, Oregon will host the 2009 KindTree Autism Camp and Retreat from Friday, August 21 through Sunday, August 23, 2009.

“The retreat is specifically designed around the needs of those living with Autism/Asperger’s. Autists can bring their families, friends and staff, and relax with them over the weekend, knowing that they are in a safe and nurturing environment. The retreat is a time for rejuvenation and solidarity. Autists are accepted and enjoyed for themselves, not forced into a procrustean neuro-normal mold.” Source: KindTree

Prices for the camp are $100 for individuals with autism, $30 for each family member or caregiver with a group maximum of $190. Tents and shared cabins are available and more information may be obtained by calling KindTree Autism Rocks at 541-251-7208. The registration deadline is August 11, 2009.

  1. Camp Baker (Alton F. Baker) is located on 500 acres on the edge of Siltcoos Lake, six miles south of Florence on the Oregon Coast.

Florence can be a wonderful place to visit in the summer on the Oregon Coast the camp is located just far enough from the ocean so wind isn’t much of a factor.
