Camp Knutson in Minnesota

by Melissa on March 9, 2009

Camp Knutson is the home to several special needs children camps including an autism-specific camp. The Camp, itself, doesn’t process registrations. Registrations are processed through a separate third-party organization; there is a different organization for each of the populations that Camp Knutson serves. In addition to an autism camp, there are also camp sessions for children and families dealing with HIV/AIDS, heart disease, Down syndrome and dermatological disorders/conditions.

Camp Knutson will host four different autism camps including one session dedicated to adults on the autism spectrum. The 2009 autism camp dates are:

June 20 – 25 – Autism Camp I
June 26 – July 1 – Autism Camp II
August 10 – 15 – Autism Camp III
August 17 – 20 – Adult Autism Camp

Camp Knutson is accredited by the American Camping Association and sits on a peninsula surrounded by two lakes in Minnesota. The camp is located at:

Camp Knutson & Knutson Point Retreat Center
11169 Whitefish Avenue
Crosslake, Minnesota 56442

Registration information for any of the autism camps can be obtained by calling (651) 647-1083.
