Wisconsin-based Camp AweSum as just been added to the autism summer camps page here at The Autism Education Site. The residential summer camp is designed to allow children on the autism spectrum, aged nine through 15, a fun summer camp experience with their peers.
The 2009 residential camp will provide an RN 24 hours a day, and occupational therapy. We will maintain a camper-to counselor ratio of 4-1. Among the staff will be licensed teachers and paraprofessionals with experience in Autism, graduate and undergraduate students, and parents of children on the autism spectrum. Additionally, all staff will pass a background and reference check and will receive training designed specifically for Camp AweSum.
